Karen Wharton O.D.

Dr. Karen Wharton earned her Doctor of Optometry degree in 1983 from Pacific University College of Optometry (Oregon) and has practiced optometry in Colorado ever since.

Dr. Karen Wharton earned her Doctor of Optometry degree in 1983 from Pacific University College of Optometry (Oregon) and has practiced optometry in Colorado ever since.

She enjoys the challenge of finding the right solution for each individual patient’s eye care needs, whether the patient needs glasses, contact lenses, LASIK, CRT, or help with an eye problem such as infection, dry eyes, glaucoma or cataracts. She is an active member of the American Optometric Association and Colorado Optometric Association, serving as President in 2011-2012. Dr. Wharton served on the Colorado State Board of Optometric Examiners for eight years. Outside of the office, she enjoys reading, hiking and traveling with her husband, Eugene.

The Colorado Optometric Association selected Dr. Wharton as Colorado’s 2010 Optometrist of the Year in recognition of service to the profession and the visual welfare of the community!​
