Dr. Benson received her bachelor’s degree in Biology and her master’s degree in Health Education and Human Behavior (Public Health) from the University of Florida, and her optometry degree from Nova Southeastern University.
She completed rotations at Lasik Pro and the Orlando VA Medical Center, both located in Central Florida. She is passionate about disability rights and serving her community, having volunteered at the Special Olympics as a vision screener. She has been awarded the William Feinbloom Low Vision award. She is especially committed to providing specialty contact lens fittings for patients with keratoconus, surgically induced corneal ectasia, and corneal scarring. Utilizing her experience, she proceeded to train optometry students that were completing their own clinical rotations, training them in the management of ocular disease and specialty lens fittings. She is passionate about patient education, communication, and achieving the best possible vision for each and every patient.
Dr. Benson grew up in South Florida and relocated to Colorado to enjoy the change of scenery and live closer to her family.
